House of The Scorpion

In the book House of the Scorpions, Clones are created in order for people to live forever. Do you think this is ethical? Are clones human? and What factor does GOD play in your decision? If not GOD is this use of clones going against Mother Nature?

  1. I do not believe this ethical. However, if we actually got to a point in science that we could actually create human clones than I guess we would have to consider them human, wouldn't we?

  2. I don't believe it is ethical for a variety of reasons: overpopulation, human rights, and oppression. The question of who has the power to create life is not necessarily as important to me as the question of how do we protect and support the people we already have. I think, as seen in this book, a person could be a biological clone of another without being the same person. We are a culmination of our bodies, minds, and experiences. I guess I just don't see the need for clones, so why would we?
